How home care works.

Everything families ask before getting started. Answered simply and honestly.

What families ask most.

What is non-medical home care?

Non-medical home care is professional support with daily living — bathing, dressing, meal preparation, companionship, medication reminders, and transportation. It does not include medical procedures. It is designed to help seniors stay safely and comfortably in their own home, on their own schedule, without moving to a facility.

How do I know if my parent needs home care?

Common signs include struggling with bathing or dressing independently, missing medications, increased isolation or loneliness, recent falls, weight loss from not cooking, and family caregivers feeling burned out. If any of these sound familiar, a free consultation is a good place to start. There is no commitment required.

What is the difference between home care and home health?

Home health is medical care delivered at home — nurses, physical therapists, wound care. It is typically ordered by a doctor and covered by Medicare. Home care is non-medical support with daily living. Care Cura provides home care, not home health. If your parent needs medical care at home, we can help point you to the right resources.

Is Care Cura licensed in California?

Yes. Care Cura is a licensed Home Care Organization (HCO #394700067) registered with the California Department of Social Services. Every caregiver we place is a registered Home Care Aide (HCA), background checked through the California HCA Registry, and covered under our agency's insurance and bond.

How much does home care cost in California?

In California, non-medical home care typically costs between $25 and $40 per hour depending on the agency, location, and level of care. Care Cura charges a flat hourly rate with no hidden fees and no long-term contracts. We are transparent about pricing from the first call. Visit our cost page for more detail or call us for a personalized quote.

Does Medicare or insurance cover home care?

Medicare does not cover non-medical home care. Some long-term care insurance policies do — check your policy's activities of daily living (ADL) benefit. Medi-Cal may cover some personal care services depending on eligibility. Most families pay privately. We are happy to talk through your situation on the consultation call.

Can I start care quickly if there is an urgent need?

Yes. Care Cura offers same-day starts when availability allows. Call us directly at (209) 855-4313 and we will do everything we can to move quickly. We understand that care needs do not always come with advance notice.

What if we need to change or stop care?

There are no long-term contracts. You can increase, decrease, or stop care at any time. We ask for reasonable notice so we can adjust schedules fairly for caregivers, but we will never lock you into something that is not working.
